I Need Light, Lots of Light!

Day 14 Today's Nudge is to share something that isn't widely known about me.

I need light!  I need lots of light in my environment.

We recently moved into a 2 bedroom home so I had to get creative setting up my office/bedroom.  For a couple of months it felt gloomy in here and I didn't know what was wrong.  We had set my computer and chair up with my back to the windows.  I kept the blinds down.  I just didn't want to be in the room but I didn't know why.

Finally today I realized what I needed.  I needed not to have my back against the window.  I needed to raise my blinds and be able to see out.

So we moved furniture around and now I can see out! I felt the difference immediately.  This is my office in progress.

I have more space in front of me now and room to put a picture on the wall in front of me that will cheer me up even more. So I ordered this print in a larger size.  It will be here on Monday and I am excited to see it on my wall.

I don't need to be at the beach to enjoy it.  I remember so well what it felt like to lay on the beach and swim in the ocean.

So mentally I can imagine/remember how it feels and go there again in my mind.  This is a form of meditation and I can put on my headphones and listen to the sounds of the ocean or any relaxing music I want.

Let there be light and there is!

One of my Favorite Places

Today I was looking at a friend's Facebook pictures and there was one of the beautiful ocean.  I just sat there and looked at it, remembering how much I loved going to the Lake Worth, Florida beach.  I spent many hours laying on a towel on the sand soaking in the rays. I'd get hot and cool off in the ocean. My blonde hair turned white and I had a beautiful golden tan in my white bikini.  Mmm I looked good!
Yes this is the place.  Look at the sun making the ocean sparkle.  I don't have to be there to still enjoy it.  I can imagine myself there and almost feel my feet in the water.  Then I would dive head first into a wave.  Yes those were fun days. I rode the waves to shore too and sometimes the waves would slam me into the sand.
Some mornings we'd drive over to the beach and watch the sun come up.  It was so delicious swimming in the  rays of the newborn day.
Isn't this a yummy picture? See the sun shining on the water? I'd stand in the light of this and imagine being blessed by my Creator, the angels and the Universe.  Ahhh this brings back some wonderful memories. Thank you Bernie for this delicious picture.

Since my skin told me it had enough sun, I am done going to the beach. Someone said why don't you go at dusk with a long sleeved shirt on and long pants.  That didn't appeal to me at all.  At first it bothered me a lot but I got past it. We moved up into the mountains of North Carolina and this is a wonderful place to live too.  The wonderful thing is, I can visit pictures of the ocean and imagine myself there any time I want.  I can energetically BE there any time I want using my imagination and memories.

Love, Jean Maurie

South Florida with mountains

What a lovely thought! If Florida had mountains or Western North Carolina had an ocean I would be in total heaven. I do miss the beach and ocean but love the mountains. I know people living in certain parts of California can drive to the ocean in a short time and still see mountains. You can't do that here though. I had 47 wonderful years living in South Florida from 1953 to 2000. I never saw a mountain until I was 50. We missed the four seasons after growing up in Pa and NJ. So when my husband retired we decided to move to the mountains. I had 47 years laying in the sun, swimming in the ocean, playing in my family's pool. Such wonderful memories. Then I see this picture and think, wouldn't it be wonderful to have the best of both worlds. I know people live in Fla in the winter months and come up here in the summer, but what the heck, why not have it all? I know you are probably saying Florida isn't that far away you could go anytime. Yes we could if we were travelers but we aren't. I'm still trying to remember how to fly. Guess that would mess up the air traffic controllers and who knows, they might try to shoot me down. Oh well, I can use this wonderful picture for a relaxing meditation.

Thanks to
