Day 11 A Field of Wishes

I saw this picture on my friend's Facebook page and it spoke to me.

 A FIELD OF WISHES.

Remember when we were children and blew these, watching these puffy seeds float off into the air? It felt magical.

What if we were able to get our wishes fulfilled just by blowing on these dandelions?  What would we wish for? What if we received our wishes as soon as we asked for them?  Sometimes I think we'd be sorry we wished for this or that because we hadn't though it through how our life might change.

What would you wish for? Of course I'd wish for good health, love, peace, healing for our country and the world.  But I wouldn't mind a nice lottery winnings, more creative ideas among other things.

I'd love to read about your wishes if you'd like to share.

Frustrated Guardian Angels

Do our angels really get frustrated with us?  Do they really look like this when we ask for guidance and don't follow their help?

Today I was talking with a client who was frustrated that she was asking for guidance and wasn't hearing anything.   As we talked, she learned that indeed she was getting guidance but not following it.  She admitted she was skeptical.  That made me think of this image of this angel meme that I'd seen many times. I forget what my angels tell me what to do too.  I told her and we laughed about the angel image.

I never liked the picture because I had this impression that our angels never got upset with us, that they understood.  I am sure they do understand our humanness.  But I wonder, do they ever just cover their eyes and shake their heads?  I know angels are supposed to be without personalities.  People do ask for their angel's names.  I was in a class where the teacher told us we each had a healing angel and instead of giving me it's name, she said to ask myself.  I did and got his name.  I even saw a face that looked human.  I have gotten much help from him since.

So what do you think?  I am sure that even if they do get frustrated with us from time to time they still love us.  And during these times maybe we can be more loving and compassionate to ourselves.  Maybe we can think of our frustrated angels and laugh a little.

Why I Love Facebook

I got 279 Birthday wishes just on Facebook yesterday! I feel wrapped in a special blanket of love! 279 birthday greetings! Before Social Media I was lucky to get ten birthday cards. Sure people say it's better to write a letter instead of texting or posting on Social Media. They can have their opinion but I thoroughly enjoyed my Facebook Birthday Here is a sampling of some of the posts I received.

Facebook actually made a video for me.

There were funny Greetings

Sweet and pretty ones too

Happy Birthday, Jean! May your new year be filled with love, joy, health, peace, prosperity, and abundance!

Happy Happy Birthday Jean Maurie. The angels love you and so do I. I hope you have a wonderful celebration and wonderful year ahead.

I wish you all that your Heart desires...

Happy Birthday Jean! Have a lovely day and a fabulous year ahead...  and lots more..

I got a lot of free coupons from restaurants for desserts and several places sent me coupons for actual FREE meals including one of my favorite Asian restaurants.

Oh yes, I can't forget the Amazon gift certificate from a friend.
So how could I not feel loved?  The greetings are still coming in! So thank you from my heart to all of you who took the time to make my birthday special including my son who phoned me and my husband who took me to dinner and shared the day with me.
A special thanks to Facebook for all you do so people can celebrate their special days.

Fat Stomach? Where?

I always thought I had a fat stomach.  It bothered me.  I wanted a flat stomach.  I exercised, tried pulling it in.  Didn't work.  That fat stomach was always in the way.

Recently I found some pictures of myself and looked at them in amazement. Where was that fat stomach that always bothered me? Where was it? What happened?  Or was it never there at all?  I don't understand.

What else about myself bothers me? Can I finally accept all of myself? At 80 it's about time.  I wished that I knew then what I know now.  I could have appreciated myself so much more then. What a difference it would have made in my life.  But I'm not going to look back.  Instead I love myself - body, mind and spirit :)

We sure do a number on ourselves don't we?  What is it you criticize yourself for or want to change?
Let's talk.

I WAS SO SCARED

When I was a child I had to climb these stairs that crossed the railroad tracks to get to school.  I was TERRIFIED!  Most of the kids liked it and they'd laugh and hop, skip across without any cares.  Me, I whimpered to myself but tried to act brave.  Some days when there weren't any other children there I'd wait, wait so I wouldn't have to cross alone.  I'm not sure what I was afraid of but I was.  I'm not even sure I told anyone how scared I was.  They wouldn't listen anyhow, just tell me to be a brave little girl.

There were times when I'd stay at my Grandmother's house over night and I could walk to school without crossing the scary bridge.   One of the people mentioned how icy the steps got in the winter. I don't even remember crossing it in the winter.  Did I get driven to school?  I don't know.

Even today as I look at this picture I want to apologize to the scared little girl that still lives inside. I want to tell her how sorry I am that she was so scared.  I can still feel the terror.

I think I'll do some tapping and let her feel her fear so she can release it. Then I'll cuddle with her and give her some hugs and kisses. I'll tell her that I've come back to rescue her and she'll never have to face those formidable steps again.   I love you little Maurie

What's My Purpose

All my life I've wondered what am I supposed to be doing with my life. What's my purpose?  I struggled, studied, felt like I wasn't doing enough, beat myself up, felt unworthy.  What if it isn't that hard?  Today I found this and suddenly I relaxed, felt better about myself and took a deep breath!  I've been doing this all along. Maybe it's enough.

WHY DO WE ALWAYS COMPARE OURSELVES TO OTHERS?

A few weeks ago I met a group of people who'd I'd known online since about 2008.   I was a little nervous thinking about the meetup a week or so before. I imagined myself surrounded by a group of people and not being able to hear what was being said.  I tapped on it and worked with my coaches, Rick Wilkes and Cathy Vartuli who helped me realize I could speak up, say "I'm almost deaf in my right ear, and I'd like to switch places with you so I could hear better." Yes I could do that but it would feel awkward.

Okay so Saturday night came and we drove up to the little Taco place in Asheville to meet these people, I was excited.   We all recognized each other and that was so cool! Here were some very lovely souls who I'd been reading their posts and been in groups with for almost seven years.  One lady was driving from New York to California with her children and she stopped here in Asheville to meet us all.  What fun!  We sat outside on benches while eating and talking.  My worry about not hearing well vanished, I had no problem.

Then the picture taking began.  I thought I was smiling.  Well I was but with my mouth closed.  I always feel self conscious about my teeth.  But we all feel self conscious about something don't we?  I've been learning about this in my Thriving Now tapping group.

This wonderful, fun evening felt good until later when I saw one of the pictures that was posted.

I saw their fresh open faces and smiles and thought, "Oh I look like a crotchety old lady, ewwww"  It really did make me feel bad. Now I do know intellectually that we only make ourselves feel bad or good depending on how we think.  But that didn't help me when I looked at the picture.   Yes there were other good pictures but of course what do we usually focus on? The bad ones of course. Even famous writers and film stars latch on to the critical reviews even when they've read hundreds of wonderful ones. Why do we feel this need to focus on the negative instead?  Is this a human trait? Is it part of the lessons we're here on earth to learn?

I posted this picture and my feelings about it on the Thriving Now forum where I'm a member and one of the tribe members told me I was probably being too hard on myself. She posted a wonderful You Tube Video of Brad Yates tapping on comparing ourselves.

I tapped with it as I visualized myself in this picture and it helped a lot. This is when I decided to write this blog.  It does make me feel very vulnerable to write this and put it out on social media but if it helps anyone else to feel better about themselves it is worth it.  I hope the ladies in the picture don't mind me posting this.

As Brad Yates says in this video "I'd rather love than compare and I am loving myself just as I am in body, mind and spirit."

Unemployed Angels Want Work - Hiring the Heavens

Yes there are hundreds and thousands of unemployed angels that want to work.   I didn't know that until the other day when my co-creator, Maggie Lukowski and I interviewed Jean Slatter, author of Hiring The Heavens.   Of course when I knew she was coming on our show Personal Empowerment For Your Soul, I bought the kindle version.  I could hardly put the book down.  Jean says you can hire committees of angels to help you with every aspect of your life.  You can have business meetings with your committees in your car as you drive to work or in your mind as you're walking through the grocery store.  You can ask your angels for help with anything and everything.  This is the way Jean lives her life, which she writes about in the book. She also gives examples of how other people have experienced seeming miracles by hiring their angels to help them find things, get better jobs, find their perfect doctor's, even meeting their mates.  She talked about a man who hired a Spiritual Joy Committee!

Jean is such an enthusiastic speaker. She explained to us that she didn't want anything to do with religion and angels growing up but one day she had a profound moment that changed her life and led her on the path of hiring angels.  She says we do not need to earn our angel's help. "The payment comes in the form of currency the spiritual world knows and that is LOVE AND JOY."  Jean goes into detail about why we deserve our angel's help and on the radio program she talked about the difference between this and the Law of Attraction, which I found fascinating.

If you are struggling in your life and you're not living your dreams I suggest you listen to this uplifting and inspirational show. If it speaks to you and gets you excited you can buy the book, Hiring the Heavens by Jean Slatter.

I'm hiring, are you?

I Wish I hadn't waited so long

This was a beautiful tree filled with glorious opened pink blossoms. The ground was covered in pink petals and I breathed in the light perfumed scent of this delicious tree when I went for my morning walks. "I'll take a picture of it next time I'm out here," I kept telling myself. So yesterday I grabbed my flip video camera and walked outside and saw this picture. Where are the pink blossoms? What happened? Sigh, I waited too long. I procrastinated. I refuse to beat myself up for this but I will use it as a reminder that tomorrow might be too late. Do it now. Take that picture, tell someone you love them! Thank someone who was kind! Smile at strangers! Smile at the grouchy person, she/he might be having a bad day. Call a friend! Hug someone! Make that phone call! We just never know when it's too late.

Calling the soul Home

I found this video You Tube and the richness of the music and the words brought up some emotions connecting with my inner child. I felt like she was sitting there saying, "what did we come here to do this lifetime? Will we ever know?" I remember as a child loving church music, hymns, organs and the choir. But I was told if you can come to church you can come to Sunday School too. I didn't want to go to Sunday School, it was boring but I didn't want to have to make excuses so I didn't go to church either. This video brought back these memories and again I was moved like I had been as a child in church. I hope you like it too. Happy Easter with Love :)

Life is Like a Cup of Coffee so Love yourself No matter what!

Someone gifted me this video on my Soul Garden page and it moved me so much I wanted to share it with everyone. There are so many times we don't love or accept ourselves because we don't "measure up" or look as good as other people. We're always comparing ourselves. We think if we don't do enough people won't love us. We are always comparing ourselves instead of just knowing how special we really are just being ourselves. So watch this, think about your life and KNOW you are just wonderful the way you are!! Much Love, Jean Maurie

Love between a dog and cat

Isn't this the sweetest video you've ever seen of love between a dog and cat? Made me wipe my eyes a little. It will make you smile all over too. Happy weekend.

The Love Letter

I just finished watching this movie on You Tube. I checked it out of the library yesterday but found it on You Tube and I was too lazy to put it in my DVD player so I sat back and watched it on my computer.

Here is a synopsis of the movie:

"Transcending the dimension of time, a love letter found in an antique desk magically seals the fate of two young people linked by destiny, yet separated by more than 100 years. A young man discovers a letter written by a mysterious woman named Lizzie, who lived long ago, and feels compelled to write to her. Correspondence ensues and grows into a love so powerful not even the years can keep them apart. Spanning the Civil War to the present, the perils of Lizzie's war-torn situation threaten her safe passage into the future. Will their love endure the test of time?"

My all time movie was Somewhere in Time, which I still love, but this movie had a better ending. Do you believe in reincarnation and past lives? I've always been fascinated by the subject and even had some past life regressions. After watching Somewhere in Time one night, a story poured out of me that I "channeled" in 4 hours. I sent it to a magazine that published it. I've never been able to channel a story like this since. It was like the story was being dictated through me. Fascinating experience.

If you want I'll put my story on my next blog.

I believe love transcends time. I believe we attract the same souls to us over and over so we can learn more about ourselves and how to love. Dr. Brian Weiss wrote a book called Only Love is Real. It is about this being with and loving the same souls through time.

Has any of you had any experiences of feeling like you "know" or "knew" someone when you first met in this lifetime? If you have, I'd love to hear your story if you feel like sharing it.

I'm blown away right now after seeing this movie. If you want to see it go to: Hallmark The Letter

Wednesday's Free Tarot Class - Moon

Hi and welcome to our Wednesday Tarot class. This week we are going to talk about the moon. I love this card! It is a psychic card too. The moon represents phases, cycles, and evolutions in our lives, including the tides. People have been worshiping the moon since the beginning of time. The astrology sign of Cancer rules the moon. The moon represents our emotions. It is the Mother card. It is number 18, which adds up to the number 9. This is the second nine that the Fool encounters on his journey, which means he is on his second initiation. The Hermit was his first 9 on his path. Remember the Hermit? He reached the first plateau of awareness and went through the initiation of the cards from the Fool to Strength that we've explored in previous articles. Because he has reached this higher level of consciousness, he can teach us. Now we are on the second 9 initiation, meaning he’s still on his journey of learning, slipping back and then advancing again. How many times do we do this? We start learning to think positive, then something upsets us and we can’t get it out of our head no matter how hard we try. We go over and over it in our minds until we feel like screaming. Finally we talk ourselves into letting go of these negative thoughts and we start again to think positive. Alan Cohen, one of my favorite authors writes, “You will receive more of whatever you concentrate on.” This is repeated in almost all self-help books, including the Bible. Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." This is what the Law of Attraction is about too. So, like the fool, we walk through our journeys trying this and trying that. Just as we think we know it all, or have a firm grasp on things, another cycle comes and we learn on another level.

Take a look at your moon card in the Rider-Waite deck. See the dog and the wolf howling at the moon? This represents the wild wolf as our untamed thoughts and feelings (the wild out of control ones we can’t seem to get out of our heads) into conscious, tamed ones, where we finally have control. The dog represents this. We do this by disciplining our minds and choosing what we are going to focus on. We decide if we are going to let our thoughts run rampant, making us feel out of control, or if we are motivated enough to take control of our thoughts. Turning a wolf into a dog? That sounds like magic! In a way it is and we do have the potential to do this. We were given the tools to create what we want in our lives. Remember those tools the fool carries in the pack? Our magician laid the tools out on the table and began working with them. This is how we turn our lives around – by deciding what we want and having the courage to co create what we desire. While we do this we have to also accept that there is an untamed, wild part of us that surfaces now and then and we need to know that this part of us comes from the same source as our disciplined selves. It just manifests in a different way. It’s a good idea to stay in touch with your untamed, animal, ego self. The crayfish coming out of the water teaches us that all creatures have the prospect to evolve and we can do it too as we let go of habits and reactions and stop overreacting emotionally. The moon illuminates our journey and the towers are like an entryway to another world. Do we have the courage to leave our old selves behind and take that trek into the mountains to seek our true spirituality? The journey is our choice. We bought the ticket.

Do you see bright yellow looking raindrops falling from the moon? These are yods, which represents the hand of God. This is life force energy falling from above into materialism. In other words it is like seeds of new consciousness being seeded. If you look back at the Tower card, these yods are there too. A full moon is a time of releasing. Write down what you don’t want in your life anymore and burn the paper during the full moon. During a new moon write what you want to bring into your life. Be as specific as possible.

The Moon’s advice:

Let go of old habits to make way for the new.
Pay attention to your dreams
Evolve and transform your subconscious motivations through meditation
Be sensitive and intuitive
Be romantic, dreamy, sensitive and understanding

Next week we’ll delve into an enlightening and wonderful card called the SUN. Until then, angel hugs,Jean Maurie
