Blogging Day 6 Finding Funny Stuff or I Need to Laugh

I have an "off the wall"  sense of humor and I love it.  My mother would look at me and ask, "how can you laugh at a time like this?"  I don't mean funeral times or anything like that, but when I am feeling anxious or panicky.  I don't know why but I just do.

I love smiley faces and have a few in my room.  I was looking for some smiley drapes at one time but never did find them.

I created a Fun Facebook page  where I post funny memes, videos or whatever.  So when I feel depressed or out of sorts I love to cruise the internet or Facebook for things to laugh at.  It helps.
I love videos of animals eating. A few of my posts might be over the top or have some colorful language.

Here is another of my favorites...

I know, silly and I hope this got you giggling a little.  If you want more hop on over to my Fun Page and read more.

Going out to eat.

Posting funny memes or sayings on my Fun page

Listening to music.

Meditating with some relaxing Guided Meditations and creating them.

Playing online games.

Writing.

Oh and I LOVE glitter and sparkly things.

I'm sure there are lots more too.  I'm feeling joy writing this and posting it.

TIME FLIES

Eighty years and 5.9 months. Where did time go? One minute at a time. One hour, one day, one week, and so on.

How many weeks have I been alive? According to How Long Have I been Alive: Its been 2,540,100,810 seconds, 705,583 hours,29399 days,  4199.9 weeks, 965.9 months.

What have I done with this time?  Ah, many things.  Had lots of experiences.  What were my favorites?  So many... I am grateful for so much.  When I think of how many beats my heart made to keep me here, I feel so blessed.  I met so many cool people during my time on earth.  Many have passed on but I meet new ones all the time.  I am blessed for my wonderful husband.

I didn't even have TV when I was born, now we have Social Media where we can communicate with people all over the world.

I belong to a new moon prayer tribe on Facebook and it's international!

I have my ThrivingNow tribe and we're also international.

My friend in Sweden was traveling to north Sweden and I was able to chat with her while she was riding and she sent me some pictures of the town they drove through.  How awesome is that?

I am so glad I lived to see it all.  What more exciting things am I going to experience?

Yes I've had some regrets but who hasn't?

Do you feel like your days are flying by?  What are you doing with them? Are you having fun or struggling? If you feel vulnerable enough I'd love to know if this blog brought up any feelings for you.  Post them below or private message me if you want.  I hope you are having an awesome life.

Is Your Life A Journey or a Joy?

I just watched this video (posted below) on Facebook and felt tears well up and roll down my face.  It brought up some strong emotions.

I wonder how many of us followed the rules, trying to "get there" but it didn't work.  Did you? What are your experiences?  I would love to read them if you feel vulnerable enough to share.

The rules to be a good daughter, student, wife, mother... Clean the house when I'd rather be writing or dancing.  Have dinner on the table when my husband came home from work. Feeling guilty because I wasn't out working.  Or even feeling guilty while writing because I wasn't doing laundry or vacuuming.

This might sound whining and maybe it is. This is how we were brought up in the 40s.  I've been unlearning.

Here is a poem I loved and would read when I felt guilty writing or playing.  It helped some.

Playing Grownup

Remember how we used to play "Grownup" when we were children? This little girl took it a few steps further. She liked watching makeup videos on her ipad and she asked her mother if she could make her own video.  Here's the result.  I could see myself doing this as a child too, but we didn't have the technology.
I used to play bride and dress up too - see pictures below.  And as you can see the pictures are black and white.  No ipads or computers back then.  I like now so much better.

IN THE MOMENT

How many of us can allow ourselves to be in the moment like this?  Little boy spots a fun looking puddle and wants to explore it.  How many parents would say, "get away from the puddle, you'll get your shoes wet."  Or "hurry up I don't have all day!"  But no, this child is allowed to play in the puddle, getting his shoes all wet.  When he's done he is done.  Sigh, I love watching this.  I hope you do too.

Let's Dance

A friend sent me this in an email and I smiled all over myself as I watched it. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

ICE CREAM SINGS

One day I had lunch with some friends. Bob, a short, balding golfer type about 69 years old, came along with them---all in all, a pleasant bunch.

When the menus were presented, we ordered salads, sandwiches, and soups, except for Bob who said, "Ice Cream, please. Two scoops, chocolate.

I wasn't sure my ears heard right, and the others were aghast. "Along with heated apple pie," Bob added, completely unabashed.

We tried to act quite nonchalant, as if people did this all the time. But when our orders were brought out, I didn't enjoy mine.

I couldn't take my eyes off Bob as his pie a-la-mode went down. The other guys couldn't believe it. They ate their lunches silently and grinned.

The next time I went out to eat, I called and invited Bob. I lunched on white meat tuna. He ordered a parfait.
I smiled. He asked if he amused me
I answered, "Yes, you do, but also you confuse me.

How come you order rich desserts, while I feel I must be sensible? He laughed and said "I'm tasting all that is Possible.

I try to eat the food I need, and do the things I should. But life's so short, my friend, I hate missing out on something good.

This year I realized how old I was. (He grinned) I haven't been this old before."
"So, before I die, I've got to try those things that for years I had ignored.
I haven't smelled all the flowers yet. There are too many trout streams I haven't fished. There's more fudge sundaes to wolf down and kites to be flown overhead.

There are too many golf courses I haven't played. I've not laughed at all the jokes. I've missed a lot of sporting events and potato chips and cokes.

I want to wade again in water and feel ocean spray on my face. I want to sit in a country church once more and thank God for His grace.

I want peanut butter every day spread on my morning toast. I want un-timed long distance calls to the folks I love the most.

I haven't cried at all the movies yet, or walked in the morning rain. I need to feel wind on my face. I want to be in love again.

So, if I choose to have dessert, instead of having dinner, then should I die before night fall, I'd say I died a winner, because I missed out on nothing. I filled my heart's desire. I had that final chocolate mousse before my life expired.."

With that, I called the waitress over.. "I've changed my mind, " I said. "I want what he is having, only add some more whipped cream!"

This is my gift to you - Live well, love much & laugh often - Be happy.

Wednesday's Free Tarot Class - SUN

Hi and welcome our Wednesday Tarot class. This week we are exploring that life-giving energy card called The Sun. Take a look at your Sun card in the Rider-Waite deck or the card above. Doesn’t it look like this child is saying, “Look Ma, no hands?” This is just about what the child is doing. This child represents the fool with nothing more to hide. Notice he is guiding the horse without using a bridle or reins. This is like the Charioteer in card 7 only the Charioteer was learning how to triumph over his own will. The child in the sun card has gained spiritual mastery and control between the subconscious mind and the conscious. Its like when we learn to play a musical instrument or learn to ski, we use the conscious part of our minds, then when we’ve practiced over and over until we finally “get” it, we let the subconscious mind take over and we can play almost by memory. All along in these series of tarot articles, we have been learning new ways to think, new ideas to work on and if we’ve followed along, we are like the naked child with nothing more to hide. Finally we are beginning to “see the light”, to be freer and more able to guide our lives with less struggle. Check out the red banner that the child is holding in his left (subconscious) hand. The red banner signifies action, vitality and fire energy. The Sun also represents the all-seeing eye.

The picture of the sun looks like a face because quabalists have taught that every human is a miniature solar system. Now that the child has learned spiritual mastery, he needs to share it with others by sharing true knowledge from his center, his heart chakra. When we open up our heart chakra’s people can see our radiant light and begin to look toward us for inspiration. The best way we can help others is to walk our talk instead of preaching and telling others what they should or shouldn’t do. When we get right with ourselves and open our hearts, we are living from our center and we begin to glow. People will say, “you look so different, did you get a new hair do, or is that a new outfit you are wearing?” We are the law of radiance, glowing, awakened and illuminating. People love to be around someone whose words, thoughts and actions are aligned with their Higher Selves and Higher Truths. You have healed your own child within and don’t need to keep your shield up anymore.

Astrologically the sun represents the sun. It rules itself because all life needs the regenerative life force from the sun to exist.

When you get this card in a reading, it means YES!!! It is a card of good news Yes your love will be back, yes you have more energy, health, happiness! If you look at the card again you’ll see a wall with sunflowers growing on top of it. Instead of facing the sun, the sunflowers are facing the child for their full development. We all are miniature suns within us and as we walk through the 19 initiates of the fool and learn each step, we, too can attain Mastery. We can help humanity on the inner planes the way the sun helps with its light on the outer. Remember that Jesus said, “Become as little children”? This doesn’t mean that we have to lose what we’ve learned but be honest and exposed.

How can you and I be more like the Sun card? Can we give up forcing our opinions on others and telling them what they should and shouldn’t do? How do we know what lesson they came into this earth plane to learn? Can we open up our hearts and love instead of judge and seek retaliation? What can we change in our own lives to make ourselves happier and more fulfilled? Have we lost the ability to play? Have we lost our childlike joy in life because we are too dedicated to the world of obligations and shoulds? Why don’t we let that beautiful child within ourselves out to enjoy the rays of the sun again! Let’s begin to be true to ourselves a little at a time until we reach that point where we know who this child is and what talents he/she has. Let’s trust our child within to teach us about who we really are.

The Sun’s Advice:

Find your joy and be excited about life
Find an exercise you enjoy and get your body moving
Get outside and into the sunshine as often as possible
Let the rays of the sun heal you inside and out
Be light and playful, be colorful

Next week we’ll be talking about judgment. Don’t shiver; it’s a pretty neat card. Come back next week and you’ll see. Until then,

Let's Play Treasure Mapping

Do you want to play a fun game that could help you manifest your most exciting dreams? This is called the Treasure Mapping game. A treasure map is about looking for pictures that represent what you want to manifest in your life. If you want a new car you get some automobile magazines or magazines with auto advertisements and cut out a picture of the kind of car you want, and hang it somewhere where you can see it often, like on a mirror in your bathroom or on a wall. This is just a small example of treasure mapping. What if you wanted to get married and go on a fabulous honeymoon? You could round up some travel and wedding magazines and start cutting out picture of what this looks like to you. If you wanted to go on a cruise you'd find some magazines with people having fun aboard a ship

Even better, you can get yourself a large poster board and paste or glue these pictures on it. You could buy a journal or a notebook and fill it with pictures. I've done both. It is amazing when I look back on what i pasted in my treasure map, how much I've manifested.

Catherine Ponder, author of The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity writes, "Truly nothing is impossible for the imagination to accomplish. But perhaps you are thinking, 'I am not yet well versed enough in the imagining power of the mind to get results as you have described. Isn't there some simple way I can begin training my imagination to produce such results for me?'"

Yes there is! That is why creating a treasure map for yourself is so powerful. You cut pictures out of magazines of what your desires look like and it gives your imagination a picture to focus on to produce "rich results." Some also call it a wheel of fortune. They take a poster board and draw a big circle on it and divide the circle into pie shapes, which represent different areas of their life. One can be money, another friendships, a third could be romance, and on. Each of us has our own special desires and dreams. One woman wanted to go on a vacation but she had to take care of her sick mother. She made herself a treasure map / wheel of fortune about a vacation. She was able to take her mother to Florida and was actually invited to stay at a friend's house free of charge - at the height of the winter tourist season. Her mother was able to stay warm, which helped her health improve. So see, miracles still happen.

Along with pictures you write affirmations under the pictures like - "Divine Intelligence knows where my perfect job is for me and by focusing on the kind of work I desire, Divine Guidance is bringing me my prefect job for the pay I want." Then don't watch the scary news about the economy. That only feeds into fear. You can say, "The Divine plan for my life is manifesting now in my every experience for manifesting my desired job."

If that is too wordy then make up affirmations that feel right for you. You can cut out words and phrases from magazines to create your affirmations. Let me give you a warning though. A friend wanted a baby but she forgot to put a picture of a man on her treasure map, only a picture of a woman and a baby. Guess what happened! She ended up as a single mother! So watch what put on your treasure map, watch what you wish for.

We are always creating whether we are aware of it or not. Each thought we have is a creation. It vibrates when it is sent out and the Universe immediately begins to send back experiences that vibrate at that same vibrational energy or cycle that we send out. Yes this is a bit simplistic to be sure, but the law of attraction does work.

So get some white poster board, some colorful pens and a stack of magazines, a glue stick, scissors and some creative sayings. Let's pull out our favorite inspirational books and copy phrases from them to add to our treasure maps. You can Google affirmations or if you have any of Catherine Ponder's writings you will have all kinds of uplifting affirmations to add to your treasure map/wheel of fortune. Maybe you could get together with people of like minds and have a treasure map party. Don't invite anyone who is a nay sayer or who is a downer. "You are the only thinker in your mind, Louise L Hay says so have fun with this and create the life you want for yourself. Don't give up. Add things to it, make it fresh from time to time. It does take a little time to change habits and begin thinking in different, more creative ways.

Happy Treasure Mapping !
