Easy Classes on how to Meditate That Works

February 20, 2022,

Meditation has never come easy to me.  I've tried different methods including clearing my mind of any thoughts which never worked.  Guided meditations have relaxed me but also put me to sleep.   I've always wished I could find a way to meditate that I could use to calm myself almost instantly when I needed before I climbed on that "Crazy Train" that Cheryl Richardson talks about.  Cheryl offered free meditation classes because she wanted to do something to help us all who feel so stressed out by all the changes that are going on in the world today.  I don't know how long these classes will last but I found a meditation that works for me.   She begins by talking about the benefits of meditation and tells her own examples of how it's helped her and people she knows.  Then we practiced.  Five minutes! I was amazed at how just five minutes of meditation can be so helpful and also how fast it goes.

Cheryl wants us to share her free meditation classes so they will help others lower their stress levels, which will benefit us all.

If this speaks to you here is the link to the three classes so far.  You can sign up to be on her mailing list to receive notices of these ongoing classes or her others.

Angels Surrounding Our World

 September 16, 2021,

I don't have much to say tonight. It's been a strange day with notice of a water leak somewhere in the house.  A plumber suspects it's in either our sinks or toilets and will be fixing it tomorrow.  Hopefully it's not a big deal.

Here is a picture I like to focus on in my mind when things get too stressful.  Instead of getting all caught up in the negative I pause, focus on this picture and imagine angels surrounding our world and everyone in it. That's including YOU 💖

I Needed Mashed Potatoes and Gravy

 September 5, 2021

Yesterday I needed mashed potatoes and gravy.   So much was going on and it was making me feel crazy.  I don't understand people anymore, I just don't.  I don't have to watch the news to get a gist of this wacky country we're living in.  Why are people taking women's rights away in Texas?  How can a supreme court have rights to a woman's body?

There is a big apple festival going on downtown and what I saw, so many are not wearing masks.  Why?

A few other things happened that left me shaking my head that I won't go into.

I needed mashed potatoes and gravy. Mashed potatoes are one of my main comfort foods and I needed some comfort.  So I cooked a delicious  chuck roast in my Instant Pot and while that was going on I peeled four potatoes and had them simmering on the stove.  Hubby made some Cole slaw and dinner was delicious! I feel better and we have leftovers.

Catching up and a sweet day

Yesterday was a nice day.  For some reason I was more relaxed than I have been in a while.  I think Mercury retrograde kicked my butt - well not exactly my butt but further up.  I had a front tooth removed with no chance of replacement.  Ugh.  But you know what?  It is what it is and I'm going to live with it.   I decided that at my age I wasn't going to get a fake tooth on some wires to make others happy.

I'd been saving for my first iPhone for almost a year.  Every reading I did went into the savings.  Hubby had a flip phone which I didn't know how to use.  So I wanted both of us to get the same brand of smart phone.  He got the iPhone SE20 and I got the iPhone 11.  I'd been using my Galaxy Note 4 for 6 years and the apps weren't working anymore.   I have an iPad which I love and I knew I'd be able to use an iPhone and teach him how to use it too.   It's been quite a trip setting it all up but fun.  I love some parts of technology, especially if I'm familiar with it.  I did a lot of googling to learn stuff and yes I have more to learn.

We changed doctors and may be changing eye doctors too.  So with all this and emerging from the Covid but fully vaccinated, I just haven't had the energy to blog.

But yesterday was more relaxing for some reason and we sat on the porch enjoying watching the birds, especially the hummingbirds.   I was playing with the camera on my new phone and this is what I got:

A hummingbird in flight!  That made my day!!

I hope your week has been relatively less stressful and I hope next week is even better for all of us.

Love, Jean

No bypassing today - Day 10

I've been bypassing my feelings in my blogs lately.  But today I'm not going to.  Friday I ate too much acid stuff - Part of an orange hubby shared with me,  then I made some spaghetti in my Instant Pot and forgot to add the sugar.  I also drank a diet coke.  All day Saturday my stomach burned.  I wasn't thinking when I had orange and tomato sauce on the same day with a coke.  I still felt yucky on Sunday but not as bad.

Monday I realized my IBS was now kicking in.  I have tools to help when my tummy gets stressed emotionally.  They usually work - mindful breathing, Emotional Freedom Therapy/ tapping and meditation.

There is a lot going on right now in my life.  Our medical doctor is leaving.  I had a good relationship with her. She understood my PTSD and said she'd not let me run out of xanax.  Not that I take it daily but I sure do when I'm heading for the dentist or something equally stressful. Usually it's a half a pill. I just hope the new doctor will be as accommodating.

I had to change chiropractors since the other one we'd been going to for years wasn't on our insurance.  I'm not sure about the new one yet.

My son is moving. He doesn't live near us but he is a highly sensitive person like I am and I know how stressful it is to move, especially halfway across the country.  I am happy for him and our daughter in love, but I think I'm absorbing some of his anxiety.  Or not.

Maybe it's Uranus in Taurus right now, my natal Uranus. Quick changes for a Taurean who does not like to move quickly.  I remember my astrology friend/teacher was explaining Uranus and Taurus and how Uranus knocks on Taurus' door saying, "Come on I have a cool thing to show you I think you'd like." Taurus says, "I don't feel like going anyplace today."  Uranus, "Come on, you'll like it, I promise." "Nah, maybe later."  Uranus, "Ok I'm coming in take you whether you like it or not."  So Uranus takes Taurus by the hand and drags her off to see a new adventure and Taurus ends up liking it after all - hopefully.  So I could just feel Uranus knocking on my door.

Here is an interesting article for each sign

about Uranus in Taurus.

I ask my angels and guides to help me by giving me some answers.  I feel I am being guided just by knowing what is bothering me. They did tell me to get up and walk the other day when I just felt like sitting here vegging and playing games the other day.  I didn't want to but "heard" it again, so I paid attention.  They told me years ago to "find out about computers" in a loud voice in my house when I was alone.

Another time I was taking a shower getting ready to go to the dermatologist. I was anxious because I was always getting biopsied. This time a big one got in the shower with me and told me to relax I wouldn't get cut on this time.  And I didn't.  So I do pay attention even if it just feels like it's my imagination talking to me.
