Day 10 Write about a Dream you Once had that you let go of and where did that lead you?

Gosh this feels heavy.  "What am I going to write about?" I wondered, as I pondered my life.  I could write that I wanted to be an Airline stewardess way back when but they wouldn't accept anyone with facial scars, thinking they were caused by an airline crash - plus I was too short. Then I thought about how I wanted to live and work in New York City. But mother told me if I left home before I was married she'd hire some strong men to come and bring me home.  At that time I didn't realize I had any power.  Oh yes I wanted to be a nurse until I was in a hospital elevator with my nurses club and smelled ether. I had a humongous panic attack from all the ether I had been given as a kid during my surgeries.  Another dream out.  So where did all this lead me?

I've mentioned in other blogs that I had PTSD from all my surgeries and not being allowed to express my feelings and a big school phobia that turned into agoraphobia. So I would say my search for healing led me to an interesting and fulfilling life.

Agoraphobia

 Okay so I started searching for ways to feel safer and less afraid.  I went every week for hypnosis which helped me relax a bit more. That was working good until they wanted to drug me.  I told them no and got dismissed.  I tried Biofeedback and it was one of the first times that I ever really felt totally relaxed.  Actually I had to relax to make biofeedback work.  I would love to have one of their machines to practice with now.  I went through 3 weeks of intense Primal Scream therapy and lost my fear of losing control and being locked up someday. That was promising but it was not practical to be primal screaming all the time, especially when we lived in my mother-in-law's guest house apartment to help her with the property.  So I had to close off some of my emotions again.  

I founded the Agoraphobics Anonymous in Palm Beach County back in 1978 with the help of a group from Miami and the local Mental Health Association.  I facilitated it for a year until I knew it was time to move on.

During this time a friend was studying Astrology. I really didn't know much about it and he offered to do my chart for me.  I got so interested in how there were so many different combinations of charts.  It was fascinating and showed me why some people are certain ways and other people see the world in other ways.  He also pointed out things in my chart that showed why I felt the way I did.  And he said a window of opportunity was coming for me to grow and get out more socially.  He said the window wouldn't close but if I used the energy it would make it much easier. So I did and started taking classes in Astrology.  My teacher also used Tarot cards and I got interested in how they worked and took many classes about reading the cards on many levels.  

I loved the idea of Angels and Guides helping us so I was playing around on AOL and typing in angel names.  I found Angels Love You which I grabbed and have kept ever since. I got it as my domain name and created a web page and a page on Facebook using it.

I have since discovered Emotional Freedom Technique where we tap on the acupuncture points expressing exactly how we feel instead of trying to push our feelings down and covering them up.  When people go through traumas their instincts are to Flee or Fight, but when they can't do either they Freeze.  There are many kinds of traumas and even little ones that go on and on can turn into Post Traumatic Stress.  Like someone who is afraid to go to school every day and no one believes she is afraid but thinks she is just being naughty.  When she isn't listened to then she can develop physical symptoms like headaches or stomach aches.  I experienced this myself and have read where children were taken to the doctors for this and they don't find anything wrong so they force them to go to school. It would be better if the child was listened to and the parents or doctor tried to find out what they are afraid of so they can release the fears or learn to use tools during fear/anxiety episodes.

I am so glad I've gone through all this so I can help people.  It is one of my greatest joy in life to help someone feel better about themselves, to be able to acknowledge how they feel instead of putting on a happy face when they are suffering inside.  I have heard to "Feel the fear and do it anyway." But that is the hard way.  Yes there are many ways to work through feelings.  I honor this and can only say what works for me

Of course affirmations can work after we acknowledge our feelings and meditation also works.  (You don't have to clear your head of all thoughts to meditate either). 

I also call in my angels for myself and even when I'm tapping I call in my angels to help me release the stuck emotions. After a session with a client we pull an angel card or two.  It is so cool that the card that appears always is the perfect card for what we have been working on.  

Look, it worked again! Look at the card that fell out as I was shuffling asking for the perfect card for this blog.

"A dream come true! Believe in yourself. The end of a difficult situation."  Isn't that what the blog for today is all about?  I just love these cards and how the angels help us.

Wednesday's Free Tarot Class - Temperance

Hi and welcome to our Wednesday Tarot class. This week we’re meeting Temperance. Now that we’ve experienced all that turmoil and change from the death card, its time we take a look at what we learned from it. What can we take with us so we don’t have to get so scared again if we have to go through changes in our life – and we will and are continuing to!

This neat card – Temperance is ruled by Sagittarius and is represented by the Archangel Michael. If you take a look at number XIV – Temperance in the Rider-Waite deck you’ll see an angel pouring something from one cup to another. This is energy. He’s pouring energy, the subconscious of the silver cup into the golden cup of the conscious – the unseen to the seen and back and forth. This card is all about vibration and radiant energy. He is teaching us that energy can be controlled, that everything is in our hands and we bring our problems to ourselves. He is showing us that we can master our own thoughts and that our angels and spirit guides are here to help us. We can be at home in the spirit world and the physical world as we learn to master our own thoughts.

Whether we believe it or not, everything is energy and everything vibrates at certain frequencies. Whatever thoughts we focus on is what we are energizing. Are you angry all the time or worrying constantly? What energies are you vibrating to – peace, love, and happiness or anger, revenge, pain and suffering?

Take a look at Archangel Michael, the Temperance card. Do you see what looks like rays emanating from around his head? This shows that he has reached another level in his travels through the spiritual realms. He is in touch with his higher self. The Hebrew name for Temperance is Samekh, meaning support. He takes what he’s learned in the previous journey through the cards and begins to use it consciously. He has reached a new plateau, which, when applied to his every day life, with practice, will make the rest of his journey easier. Plus he is becoming more aware of those wonderful tools he’s possessed all along.

The death card represents releasing our ego and now we have to decide if we are going to continue over reacting to everything that confronts us in life, or are we going to stop, turn to our own Archangels, who accompany us through our life, letting them show us new and better ways of living.

What is your life about since we started the Fool’s Journey in the Tarot cards? Have you begun seeing life a little differently? Are you still over reacting or have you gotten all fired up to make some worthwhile and creative changes? I know I have changed since I started writing these articles. I decided to get some help for some issues that have been blocking me. How are you doing? Who is your support now – the old you who might have dramatized things in the past, or has a new, wiser, calmer you begun to emerge? Or maybe you realized that, “hey I’m angry and I never told anyone.” Maybe its time to acknowledge your “fire within”, be honest with yourself and find healthier and more creative ways to let these emotions have their say and be released. It’s better than pushing your feelings down and denying them. However, you don’t need to stay angry. Once you acknowledge your feelings and where they are coming from - without attacking anyone verbally, or physically – you’ll be freer to heal so your beautiful, loving self can emerge freely and genuinely. As you change you’ll find your friendships and relationships deepening.

With one foot in the water and the other foot on land, our Archangel Michael is no longer living only in the mental and intellectual world. He is more balanced – neither overly spiritual which can be pious, nor overly mental. He now knows how to use both his intellect and his spirituality in harmonious balance to achieve his goals.

Temperance Advice:

Communicate your feelings
Express your range of feelings creatively
Achieve equilibrium
Begin seeing all sides
Find the middle ground.

Free Wednesday Tarot Class

Hi and welcome again to our Wednesday Tarot class. This week we are going to talk about the card everyone wants to get in their readings, The Lovers. Those of you who have Tarot cards, take a look at the Lovers. In the Rider-Waite deck, the lovers are two naked people standing outside. The woman is looking up toward a huge angel in the sky and above the Angel is the Sun. The man is looking at the woman. This means that the male energy needs to get direction from intuition, which is usually thought of as a feminine energy. That is why he is looking at her while she receives direction from her Higher Self, the Angel. Each of us has male and female energy within, so when we talk about feminine intuition, know we all have it whether we’re male or female. The Lovers suggests spiritual growth through expressions of man’s feminine nature.

Behind the woman, is the apple tree of temptation that God told Eve not to eat of the knowledge of good and evil. God named everything and called it good. Before Eve ate the apple, they were innocent and knew nothing about evil. Let’s call evil negativity, worries, fear because that is what evil is all about – only seeing the bad, only thinking the worst, retaliating. Many times we humans have to learn our lessons the hard way, walking through our fears, overcoming our negativity, solving our worries. Sure all this is painful, but we often don’t appreciate what we have until we’ve lost it, like when Adam and Eve were banished from the garden.

The Hebrew name for the Lovers card is Zain, meaning sword. In the tarot cards, swords represent air, the sign of Gemini, mental attitudes, discrimination, and choice. Yes swords look menacing but they don’t have to be. The sword has two edges, one for knowledge, and the other to wound or kill. Before one uses a sword he has to think first, prior to making that decision. If you remember, there was a sword on the magicians table, which represents our tools for our life’s journey. How will you use your sword? Will you try to gain spiritual knowledge, look at your life’s possibilities? Will you plant your seeds in a fertile garden and nourish them with love and caring? Or will you throw it all away in haste and anger because you feel trapped and unable to see other possibilities?

The Lovers is number 6, Gemini, the twins; God, Goddesses, our subconscious selves and our super conscious selves, communication. Remember the Angel above the Lovers and think how much easier our lives would be if we would turn to our Higher selves and listen before flying off the handle at our lover, because our feelings are hurt. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication and this is one of the main problems between lovers, not communicating. To help us communicate, we can use the polarity between the male and female or opposite points of view. We need to look at their side as well as our own in order to understand what our lovers are feeling. Communication is a two way street. We also have to listen to what the other is saying, not interrupt even if we don’t agree. Listen, then repeat what we heard and try to understand. Attack feels easier than forgiving, so we need to watch what we say.

“How can I attract my true love to me?” You ask. By being love! Loving yourself is first. How can you give away what you don’t have? If you don’t love and respect yourself you are going to attract people into your life who treat you exactly the way you feel about yourself. People will leave, they won’t call when they say they will, they will continue to prove to you that you are not worth loving. But if you learn to love yourself, you will then love from a place of wholeness, and with your heart open, your true love will appear and treat you kindly, respectfully. So if your love life is unsatisfactory, use this experience to grow and discover what part of you needs healing in order to love fully. Look toward Arch Angel Raphael, the angel of healing that presides over the lovers card. Ask him to help you find your true love. And remember, God made you and She didn’t make junk. Put that on your mirror to memorize as you look at yourself each morning, when you start your day. Remember, You deserve to be loved and your angels always love you, no matter what!

The Lovers advice:

See another’s point of view
Empathize – feel what others feel
Open your heart up and communicate instead of hiding your feelings
Ask yourself if you accept him or her as she is, instead of trying to make them into who you want
Be flexible and express your true self
Have the courage to stand naked with your feelings and thoughts.
Turn to your Higher Self and your relationship Angels for guidance on how to love and get love

Free Wednesday Tarot Class #4

Hi welcome to our Wednesday weekly Tarot class. This week we will meet the Empress. She is a beautiful, young woman sitting in a garden surrounded by blooming flowers. She is fertile and in some of the decks she looks pregnant. I use the Rider-Waite deck to describe the illustrations in these articles. If you look at this card, there is a heart shaped shield next to her with the symbol of Venus on it, which is the Goddess of Love. She is impregnated with the seeds of love that we all need to begin feeling for our families, ourselves our world, now that we are in the Age of Aquarius. The Empress is the protector, the Earth Mother, the creator and nurturer. She loves the Earth and she wants us all to protect it. The Empress gives birth to new ideas. She takes good care of her babies (ideas) and protects them. She is the number III card, which comes from 2+2 = 3, the birth of two opposites (male and female) When this card comes up in a reading it can mean someone is pregnant with a baby or is going to give birth to some creative new ideas. It can also mean prosperity in your life coming from new ideas, or that you love nature and need to spend more time outdoors. You could also be working with children or animals. You have to listen to your inner self to discern what this card means when you are reading for others.

You are the Empress in your life, whether you are male or female. You were born with the seeds of greatness within you, planted there by your creator. How are you using your greatness? What is your life all about? Is it filled with creative, new ideas, or are you still believing what you were told as children, that you can’t do this, and you have no talent for that, and why didn’t you get all A’s on your report card? One of the fallacies I have uncovered is how children were put down for talking about their “imaginary” playmates or saying things that “grownups” don’t understand, like –“I saw Grandpa the other night. He came into my room and talked to me.” The parents holler at them, saying, “Oh that was just your imagination, he’s dead, stop making things up.” And the poor children get scolded. This pushes down and often stifles their creativity. Has this happened to you?

Most of my clients are tickled to hear they always have loving Angels around them. Many had no idea. “Why don’t I hear them?” I am asked, “Were you told to listen to your angels as children?” They answer no. They want to know how to contact their angels and how can they hear them. “Just talk to them in your thoughts, they will hear you,” I say. “But don’t expect to hear a loud booming voice coming from your ceiling, as an answer.” Angels talk to us in dreams, in our imagination, through other people – they communicate with us in many ways. Pay attention to feelings you get, that are different from your every day feelings. Heed those unexpected, ideas that seem to come to you from out of the blue, from your ‘blessed imagination’ that everyone told you was imaginary That is one of the major ways that our angels communicate to us, by putting wonderful, creative ideas into our imagination.

Be the Empress in your life and protect and nurture your creative ideas. Bring them into fruition. We are all Mother-Empress’s in our own lives so don’t try to smother people, or make them change to keep you happy. Nurture the seeds of greatness in others, by acknowledging them with love and kindness. You can help people more by becoming role models than all the talking in the world.
Walk your talk, teach by example and explore this wonderful creative, loving Empress within.

*Take responsibility; more patient
